The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Sunday, Aug. 27Theft of a firearm was reported at the 1400 block of Evans Street.

A breaking or entering was reported at the 1600 block of Main Street.

Saturday, Aug. 263:04 a.m.Cormella Beard, 47, and Donald Williams, 57, were arrested at 1805 Caddo St. for public intoxication following officers’ response to a domestic disturbance involving both parties.

Friday, Aug. 2510:52 a.m.A Logan Street woman reported losing her wallet during a ride on a SCAT bus from Walgreens, suspecting the driver or another passenger. The investigating officer reviewed surveillance video and determined the lady had gotten off the bus with the wallet, and a search of her yard yielded negative results.

Thursday, Aug. 244:58 p.m.A customer of Winner’s Circle reported the theft of his phone by another customer, saying he’d left the phone on the counter by mistake and used an app to track the phone to Chateau Apartments, 218 N. 11th St., where he made contact with the man who acted oblivious to the theft. Police were made aware of the theft, watched surveillance footage from the convenience store and were able to retrieve the phone from the suspect. No arrest was made.

Wednesday, Aug. 23Theft of firearms was reported at 16th and Walnut streets.

Financial identity fraud was reported at Southwest Auto Collection.

Officers took a report of a runaway juvenile.

6:09 p.m.Frank Joseph Stegner, 51, of Arkadelphia, was arrested at 629 S. 12th St. for third-degree domestic battery following a report of a domestic disturbance in progress.

Officers took an “information only” report involving a juvenile.

Tuesday, Aug. 226:46 a.m.The attended death of a 72-year-old male was reported at 1314 Cutler St.12:12 p.m.A woman reported being harassed by a known suspect on social media. An officer advised her to block the person.

Monday, Aug. 213:25 p.m.A hit-and-run vehicle accident was reported at the 2700 block of Caddo Street, where the complainant said she got out of her van to check on what appeared to be a medical issue when the vehicle reversed and struck her van. The driver apologized and drove away. The complainant provided police with a license plate number, and officers were able to identify the owners of the suspect vehicle. They would later provide information for the report.

Tuesday, Aug. 224:27 p.m.Tyler Lane Sparks, 26, of Gurdon, was arrested at Winner’s Circle for a failure to comply warrant.

Sunday, Aug. 1310:28 a.m.Deputies responded to a residence at the 1400 block of Whelen Road for a report of an armed man attempting to enter a house vacated by a previously convicted pederast. The armed individual was attempting to retrieve property belonging to the convicted child molester.

Monday, Aug. 1411:57 a.m.A Central Road resident reported the fraudulent use of a credit card.

Friday, Aug. 1810:32 p.m.The theft of a 9mm Glock was reported at a residence at the 5600 block of Highway 67.

Tuesday, Aug. 85:28 p.m.Breaking or entering was reported at Southfork Truck Stop, 2066 Highway 53. Four suspects were believed to be involved in the incident.

Sunday, Aug. 2011:45 a.m.The theft of a 9mm Sig Sauer was reported at the 1000 block of South 3rd Street.8:29 p.m.Burglary was reported at a Piney Ridge Road, Okolona, residence, where the thief made off with six televisions, six laptops, four tablets, two XBox systems, a PlayStation 4, a battery-powered scooter and “a lot of jewelry.”

Saturday, Aug. 199:37 a.m.Deputies investigated a theft at the 1400 block of Southfork Road, Gurdon, where several tools and an air compressor were reported stolen. A suspect and his vehicle was located at Gum Street, and two people were arrested for an unrelated warrant.

Thursday, Aug. 176:30 p.m.A recently released prisoner reported a known male unlawfully used her debit card while she was incarcerated in the county jail.

Tuesday, Aug. 155:15 p.m.A mailbox was reported vandalized at the 2900 block of Country Club Road.
